Periodically I
find it necessary to update the website - trying to improve the look and
feel of the layout and mechanics. Today I embarked on such an
update, which only serves to remind me how much more I want to add to
this site!
Recently I purchased
voice recognition software, which I plan to use to help me add more text
from documents I've collected. Hopefully my information will help
some distant cousin piece together their own family tree - in the same
way other family historians have helped me.
Currently I am working with my mother on a history photo project.
Together we are scanning her childhood photographs, which we will then
put together in a picture book, using Microsoft Word 2007. The
Word document will then be converted to a PDF and sent off to lulu.com,
who will print the book for us. One great advantage for me, is
that mom is cheerfully identifying many family photos!
If you have your own stack of
unidentified family photos, don't put off the task of putting names to
those faces! With the holidays coming up, take this time to have the
"elders" help you in cataloging who's who.
(The picture to the right is one of my mother, Caroline Glandon, it a favorite of mine!)
