Fred O. Johnson
1905-1968
The following two newspaper obituaries for
Fred Johnson state his son,
Walter Johnson, was living in El
Monte California. Although Walter had lived in El Monte when he
first moved from Michigan to California, he had just moved to Havasu
Palms, Lake Havasu California, at the time of his father's death.
And before then, Walter had lived in Covina, California, from about
1955 to 1968.

Dies; Rites Saturday
Davison
– Services for Fred O. Johnson, 63 of 2210 W. South St., owner
and operator of a restaurant here for the last 18 years will be at 2
p.m. Saturday in the Swartz Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Davison Cemetery. He
died Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital.
Mr. Johnson retired from AC in 1950 as a
general foreman and opened the Green Nook Restaurant here. He also
owned and operated a farm at 10455 E. Coldwater Road, Richfield
Township, for more than 20 years. He lived on the farm until he moved
to Davison several years ago.
He was a member of the Davison First
Baptist Church and the Davison Lodge 236, F & AM, which will conduct a
memorial service at the funeral home at 7:30 Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; a
son, Walter, El Monte, Calif; a daughter Mrs. Jacqueline Paterson,
Davison, a sister, Mrs. William Anderson, Flint, and four
grandchildren.

Rd., age 63, died Wednesday, December 4, 1968, at St. Joseph Hospital,
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crystal
Chapel, Swatz Funeral Home, Rev. Karl E. Unger officiating. Burial in
Davison Cemetery. Mr. Johnson will rest at the Swartz Funeral Home,
9136 Davison Rd. where Masonic memorial services will be held at 7:30
p.m. Friday under the auspices of Davison Lodge No. 236 F&AM. In lieu
of flowers contributions can be made to the Davison Masonic Lodge 236
memorial building fund. Death was due to complications following a 3
month illness. Mr. Johnson was born in Chapin Illinois, May 4, 1905
and had been a resident of Davison and Richfield Township for the last
32 years coming from Flint. He was a member of the congregation of the
Davison First Baptist Church and a member of the Davison Masonic Lodge
236 F&M. He also owned and operated the Green Nook Restaurant in
Davison for the last 18 years and owned and operated a farm on E.
Coldwater Rd. for 22 years. Mr. Johnson was also a retired employee of
AC Spark Plug Division in 1950 where he was a general foreman.
Surviving are: Wife, Marion; son Walter Johnson of El Monte,
California, daughter Mrs. Jacqueline Paterson of Davison, 4
granddaughters, sister Mrs. William Anderson of Flint; several nieces
